Minimum Qualifications


• An interest in Civil Rights as a career or a desire to learn more!
• Excellent typing and oral/written communication skills
• Proficiency with Gmail, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and various office equipment
• Well organized and able to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently or on a team
• Ability to build effective working relationships with others at all levels in the organization
• Ability to perform various administrative tasks such as scheduling, coordinating drafting documents and correspondence, preparing reports and keying sensitive data, proofreading, etc.
• Experience with accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Ability enthusiastically greet visitors, answer phone calls and respond to internal and external customer needs


Additional Considerations


• Strong experience providing administrative support in a face pace environment where attention to detail is a must.
• Some exposure to civil rights professionals, practices and/or processes

This position is a part-time (wage) position and although it does not qualify for benefits, it is an opportunity to get your foot in the door of one of the Commonwealth’s largest organizations. In addition, the selected candidate will gain invaluable experience working with an agency-wide on a number of exciting initiatives.


Special Instructions


The position you are applying for is an Hourly/Wage position. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than an average of 29 hours a week and cannot exceed 1500 hours the wage employment year (5/1 - 4/30). This position does not include health insurance, retirement or paid leave benefits.
