VDOT Richmond District is seeking a detail-oriented individual to work as an Hourly Project Management Coordinator in their District Local Assistance Office. The selected candidate will assist managers in monitoring project data for quality assurance and ensuring performance goals are met by ensuring project data is consistent with business practices, procedures and rules. The position will monitor databases for data quality, assist with financial management, and project accounting activities; monitor expenditures, prepare budgets, analyze/reconcile data and prepare reports; and research, compile, organize and analyze large amounts of data from various systems and sources. You will revise and update existing databases to include adding new data fields; develop recommendations and maintain documentation for improvements to existing data, systems, and processes. Position will schedule, coordinate and set agenda for meetings; prepare documents, letters and correspondence to localities and other VDOT offices on project delivery; and assist with forums and training.
This is an hourly/wage position and is not entitled to state benefits package is limited to no more than 1500 hours in a 12-month period.

Minimum Qualifications
• Knowledge of spreadsheets, software applications to include MS Office suite, financial and database systems
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions, work independently and communicate effectively with diverse groups.
• Ability to monitor, analyze, evaluate data to include forecasting and tracking information.
• Skill in detecting, researching, and applying logical methodology to complex problems.
• Skill and proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and complete within deadlines.
• Ability to develop budgets, monitor expenditures, analyze financial data, work with detailed numerical data and generate reports.
• Ability to plan, compile, analyze, organize data clearly and accurately.
• Valid driver's license.
Additional Considerations
• Extensive experience with spreadsheets/databases and software applications to include MS Office suite, project management, financial and database systems.
• Knowledge of project development/management and tracking procedures, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Experience using Cardinal is desired.
• A combination of training, experience, or education in public administration, business administration, finance, or related field is desired.
Special Instructions
Position is designated as essential to emergency operations and will be required to work outside normal work hours to ensure the safety of the traveling public.
