D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Underwriting Counsel. The right candidate will be responsible for analysis of risk, research, interaction with agents, and making decisions on insurability of titles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Make risk adverse, common sense underwriting decisions
• Respond in a timely manner, to underwriting inquiries from agents
• Research, analyze, and interpret statutes, regulations and opinions, court rulings by utilizing professional legal and compliance publications
• Identify issues, establish transactional facts, apply legal principles and underwriting guidelines to reach a timely decision
• Provide analysis and guidance on relevant federal and state statutes and regulations, court rulings, opinion letters to the agent network
• Participate in the agent underwriting review process
